A variety of documents filed with the Circuit Court between 1818-1928, the bulk falling between 1820-1870. These records apparently were never indexed and had no other court documents related to them. Includes a wide variety of materials such as minutes of coroners' inquests, liens and judgments, writs of habeas corpus, marriage records, pardons, depositions of witnesses, documents connected with court cases, and a number of reports filed with the Circuit Court.

Doty, James Duane, 1799-1865

James Duane Doty (1799-1865) was a lawyer, judge, and government official. He represented Wisconsin in Congress between 1838 and 1841, and again between 1849 and 1853.
